All Smiles at Our Christmas Dinner
January 11, 2023
The holidays are an important time for friends and families to celebrate together. We know that residents in nursing facilities can at times feel isolated during the holiday season, but here at Mentor Ridge, we always want to ensure our residents are not alone and continue having wonderful holidays!
Gathering together for Christmas was extra special this year after the past two years which consisted of window visits and hallway cart parties. This year, we invited our families to an evening of food, music and great company. They were able to visit freely with their loved ones throughout the facility and congregate in the lobby to listen to smooth music, provided by pianist Peter Tavens. Those who preferred to visit in the privacy of their rooms were able to enjoy the piano music via our in-house TV channel.

Everyone agreed that the Dietary Department outdid themselves with a tasty spread! A variety of delicious appetizers, including beef wellington bites and bacon-wrapped apricots, were on the menu. Of course, there was an abundance of holiday sweets there as well. An added bonus to the evening was a visit from Girl Scout Troop 71837. After singing a few songs accompanied by Mr. Tavens, the girl scouts spread holiday joy by caroling throughout the building.

The most wonderful part of this event was simply seeing the happy faces of our residents and families as they spent a fulfilled evening together. To see our residents enjoy the moments we put together for them this holiday season surely warms our hearts. We hope everyone had a beautiful and blessed holiday, and here’s to an even better new year!
