Mentor Ridge Health and Rehabilitation is excited to announce an enhanced service to our 5-star rehabilitation and nursing services. We are honored to welcome Linda Ward, CNP, to our team. As a Physiatry Nurse Practitioner, she will visit the campus multiple times per week to collaborate with our attending Clinicians and Therapy Team to offer well-rounded care to patients focusing on therapy services.
Linda Ward, CNP - Physiatry Nurse Practitioner at Mentor Ridge Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), also known as Physiatry, is a medical specialty that emphasizes the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of people disabled by disease, disorder or injury.
Physiatrists combine Physical Therapy and pain treatments to help the patient avoid surgery. The goal of the treatment plan is to maximize physical functioning, greatly decrease or eliminate pain, foster independence, and improve the quality of life for those suffering from a disability, chronic pain and physical impairments.
A Physiatrist is trained to manage a variety of disorders and diseases. In the skilled nursing and long-term care setting, this may include:
